A city that waived its own fees so people could rebuild
On July 23, 2025, the Liberty Hill City Council voted to waive planning and building permit fees for 180 days for homeowners recovering from the July 4 weekend floods. Not many cities give up their own revenue like that. We think it says a lot about the place.
Growth here centers on Santa Rita Ranch, developed by Platform Ventures and ranked by RCLCO as Greater Austin's top-selling master-planned community six years running, with builders including Perry, Pulte, Highland and Toll Brothers. Liberty Hill ISD held 19,041 single-family homes in 2025, and their median appraisal was the highest among the county's large school districts.
