Ten years after the flood
The Blanco River at Wimberley rose from 8.98 to 40.21 feet within hours and crested at 43.2 feet early on May 24, 2015. The flood destroyed 350 to 400 homes and killed 13 people. The town rebuilt, and the roofs that went on in the years after are now about a decade old.
A ten-year-old roof isn't old. It's old enough to check, though. Sealant dries out, flashing loosens around chimneys and vents, and small leaks start. As a roofing company in Wimberley, TX, we'd rather find a small problem on a free inspection than a soaked ceiling later. Most of what we do here is roof repair, not replacement.
