From second-home colony to full-time city
Lakeway started out as a retirement and second-home community on the south shore of Lake Travis, the 65-mile-long reservoir in the western corner of Travis County, about 25 miles west of downtown Austin. It didn't stay a weekend place for long. The 2010 census counted 11,391 residents, up from 8,002 in 2000. A lot of those early lake houses are now year-round homes, and their roofs were never planned for the kind of use they get today.
As a roofing company in Lakeway, we see that history on almost every job. Homeowners want a roof that will outlast their time in the house, they want it to look right from the water and the street, and they want somebody to handle the paperwork. That last part is not optional here.
