Permit first, then the HOA
Bee Cave's Planning and Development department puts roof replacement on its list of projects that need a permit under the city's Unified Development Code. In the same breath, it tells homeowners to check their HOA deed restrictions. So a re-roof here clears two sets of rules before the first bundle arrives, and a good roofing company in Bee Cave should be planning for both from the estimate on.
That is a lot of process for a city this young. Bee Cave incorporated in 1987 at about two square miles. It had 656 residents in 2000, 3,925 in 2010, and a March 2020 estimate of 14,006 counting its ETJ. The name is older than the city: it comes from colonies of Mexican honeybees along Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek, where Dietrich Bohls settled in the 1850s.
